Hand sculpted glass icy mountains featuring a clear core, layered with coloured glass powders encased in tweezered clear glass.  Size: 11.5 x 15 x 11cm.

During making it’s quenched in cold water to add crackles and fissures then hammered to remove sections and introduce ‘crevices and ice erosion’ representing Svalbard’s icy peaks.  Svalbard is also called Spitsbergen meaning ‘pointy mountains’.

Fire polishing and annealing remove sharp edges and stabilise them.
