‘Ribs is a sculpture that departs my norm of working with rust although the original fixings are still in evidence. They are iron bolts and are indeed rusting! They are made of oak and would have formed the ribs of a victorian flat bottom barge that would have sailed up and down the lakes of Cumberland very possibly over two hundred years ago.
I Love their shape and form and the heavy bases made by another sculpture friend chris Bramall of CB Arts. Chris if famous for his bridges and gates all across the UK as well as large sculptural forms.’
