Angela Lawrence
Angela Lawrence lives and paints in Scotland, but was born in London and worked in Finland for many years. She has always painted but her training has principally been as a musician: before becoming a full-time artist, she was a professional violinist who worked freelance in London orchestras and full-time in the Joensuu City Orchestra in Finland.
“Much of my work portrays the beauty of Galloway and the Solway coast of South West Scotland which I have come to know very well through my passion for walking. I aim to conjure up my impressions from being by the sea or up a mountain mainly with attention to light and with naturalistic, vibrantly fresh colours. All of my paintings are about the natural world.”
